Sanctions and boycotts are something that patriots don't mind supporting

The voids that were filled by cutting off trade with China meant less competition for American manufacturers. 
Our expectations for quality were higher, since the American mfgs could afford to build quality into their products instead of having to compete with Chinese Slave Labor.
 Of course even some patriots were known to visit China Town a couple times a year to buy FIYA CLACKIES and BOTTLE ROCKETS, since there never was a domestic mfg

Truth.
This comes back to bite us with replacement car parts.
I asked a NAPA auto parts guy why there were 3 different price brake rotors.
He explained that US Steel is more dense than "off shore" steel and that it can tolerate more heat before warping and dissipate heat more efficiently.
It takes ENERGY  to make steel dense..and it takes a blend of different metals in the recipe to give the steel the best qualities for the job it's intended to do.
Tires, belts and hoses  quite often are marketed the same way, so do your homework to see which brands are still US made and which have gone to China.
I would trust Japanese made any day over Chinese

Harbor Freight [Chinese] Power Tools had a well  earned  reputation  for being A TOTAL **** JOKE....but in recent times they have made slight improvements..just be sure to buy their "best rated" offerings.
I've gotten more than my moneys worth out of their power generators and pressure washers.
The 213cc gasoline engine they use in these machines is pretty reliable. .
If you aren't a professional, you can get your money's worth  out of their Roto-hammers, wood routers, cordless drills, etc. They have a little circular saw with about a 4 or 5 inch diameter blade that is actually a great  tool ...even if you want to build a house..!  It's got gear reduction so it just plows through lumber and plywood at an easy pace.
