I edited my post to include "or a story" since the filing is not yet available online...you quoted it before I could submit that edit.
Per Reuters:
UPDATE 1-Trump cannot line up full bond in New York fraud case, offers to post $100 million (yahoo.com)
In a filing with the Appellate Division, a mid-level appeals court, Trump's lawyers asked to temporarily stay the judgment during his appeal, saying he would suffer "irreparable harm" if James were free to sell his real estate assets to raise capital. The lawyers also said the "exorbitant and punitive amount of the judgment coupled with an unlawful and unconstitutional blanket prohibition on lending transactions would make it impossible to secure and post a complete bond."
The irreparable harm point is a huge deal. If Engoron doesn't allow the alteration he will most likely seal an appellate ruling in favor of Trump. Courts (especially appeals courts) take a dim view on lower courts allowing a defendant to be harmed beyond repair. Then there is the restriction again lending transactions in NY, meaning Trump cannot put a real estate holding up as collateral. Even if Engoron denies the lower bond request, Trump still has time.
