Here's the deal.  I want abortions to be rare, safe, and legal.  I don't really like late term abortions -and the data shows that women are not fond of them either and are devastated by late discovery of horrible abnormalities in their fetus or arising health issues for them.  I think those abortions need to be done.  I don't really have an issue with first term abortions.  The embryo is certainly not a viable human being and we don't need to bring more unwanted children into this world.  That's only one issue, though, isn't it?

Again.... both parties want to be big tents.  If you have a big enough tent, you're gonna have people who disagree with you on particular issues but still agree with you on the really important ones.  

A woman's right to choose is big for me and big for most Democrats. Protecting the environment is big for me and big for most democrats.  A viable social safety net is big for me and big for most Democrats.   Sensible gun control is big for me and big for most Democrats.  LBGTQ rights is big for some Democrats but not for me.  A strong national defense and a strong NATO alliance is big for me but not for a whole lot of Democrats.  Trans athletes competing against women is NOT a big deal for me and NOT a big deal for most Democrats, but it is for some.  

That's my tent.    All those people, hopefully, will vote for Biden.  They don't ALL support drag queen night at the local kindergarten just because they vote for Joe.

Now, if your tent is NOT diverse like that, then you are admitting that either you don't HAVE or even WANT a BIG TENT, or you're admitting that all Republicans are cookie cutter Stepford wife-type automatons.
