There are few of the former in which we aren't considerably better off.

cool, huh?

At a local, municipal level, where a city or a town may have a large number of non-citizen residents, who may very well, for example, pay property taxes and may have children attending local schools that are funded by those taxes, I see a reasonable argument that would allow them to cast ballots in local municipal elections where the people who decide HOW those property taxes are spent and HOW those schools are administered are elected. To not allow them to have a voice in how their tax dollars are spent is nothing less than taxation without representation, and, we, as Americans should be empathetic to that.

They want representation, they go through a process that's already in place.
What the **** is wrong with you?
maineman » 04 Apr 2024, 10:00 pm » wrote: ↑ I agree wholeheartedly. And if totally legal, non-citizen residents convince towns and cities to allow them to vote on local issues as to how their tax dollars are spent or how their children are educated, then MAGA morons need to shut the **** up an and, instead, applaud Americans for their civic inclusiveness.

In other words, it isn't legal for a non-citizen to vote.
That is exactly what I said "**** that" to...
Tough titty for those assholes that are arrogant enough to presume the right to vote simply because they have a job.
They want to vote? Go home and do so. **** 'em.

My point was: It happens. There are places IN AMERICA where it is legal and it is NOT unconstitutional. There is nothing UNAMERICAN or UNPATRIOTIC about giving local property taxpayers the right to determine how their tax dollars are spent.

I'll wait.

I didn't say it was unconstitutional. If they want to vote enter the country legally and eventually become citizens. There is nothing unpatriotic about that.

Many of them have no desire to go home to their native country and are anxiously awaiting the immigration process to grind away so that they can become citizens.
