From what I hear the movie is different from what it is advertised. It's also A24's biggest budget movie to date. Any thoughts?

If you ever want to read a whole series of really good "Post Apocalyptic" novels look into the works of G. Michael Hopf.
Hopf has a military background, so what he envisions as the probable sequence of events after the USA gets nuked and the entire East Coast is turned into an ashtray is both enlightening and very believable.
