My point was that that move, like SCOTUS and their Dobbs debacle, is the political equivalent of the dog catching the car.  The Republicans have been whipping up their base with promises to criminalize abortion everywhere for 50 years.  Dobbs came along and there they were.  And every single special election or referendum on abortion since Dobbs has been a loss for the GOP.

And as for your first half-truth, the AZ Supreme Court DID NOT ban abortions in the state.  The Republican legislators in 2022 permitted legal abortions up to the 15th  week, as most other states have.  And that will be voted on in a referendum in the state this November.

If I had to guess, they'll legislate an amendment to the state constitution to codify the present law that would continue to make it legal for abortions up to 15 weeks.
But if they want something different, it's up to them and it shouldn't bother you or me what another state decides.

Apparently, you have a problem with not only a state's rights to choose for themselves what abortion law they want, but also with the 10th Amendment to the Constitution.  Do you deny that?
