Just ask any Democrat, wages have outpaced inflation so this lady just isn't aware she is doing better.
Yep…a bit of 3% here, 5% there…and you arrive at an (actual inflation rate) figure of 50% since 2020.Fuelman » 14 Apr 2024, 9:18 am » wrote: ↑ Just ask any Democrat, wages have outpaced inflation so this lady just isn't aware she is doing better.
By January 2024, wage growth was 4.5% and CPI was 3.4% in December 2023, the latest datapoints for each indicator. Workers are winning. Hourly wages rose 0.6% in January from the previous month and are up 4.5% from a year earlier — outpacing inflation.Feb 5, 2024https://www.axios.com › 2024/02/05Charted: Workers win as wage growth outpaces inflation - Axios

My source has informed me IWM has already topped (at 210 a couple weeks ago). The “canary in the coal mine” trade I made…a grand total of 1 put is up a measly 31%.Fuelman » 14 Apr 2024, 9:18 am » wrote: ↑ Just ask any Democrat, wages have outpaced inflation so this lady just isn't aware she is doing better.

Nice, 31% isn't 500% but it's still a win. 31% for a short time frame is nothing to scoff at. Did you take the money or riding it out?LowIQTrash » 17 Apr 2024, 7:36 pm » wrote: ↑ My source has informed me IWM has already topped (at 210 a couple weeks ago). I would start stacking 7-10 month puts or wait for the dead cat bounce up to 200, but the risk/reward here looks excellent. If you zoom out to the 5Y it looks very ominous.
I did not sell yet, this is just the beginning.Fuelman » 18 Apr 2024, 12:18 pm » wrote: ↑ Nice, 31% isn't 500% but it's still a win. 31% for a short time frame is nothing to scoff at. Did you take the money or riding it out?
The 5 year chart sure shows the possibilities, you expecting another global pandemic?
Thanks for the updates, I'm following along.LowIQTrash » 18 Apr 2024, 5:38 pm » wrote: ↑ I did not sell yet, this is just the beginning.
I expect IWM to fall at least another 20% by December 31st, so…155-160 should be a reasonable estimate for where IWM will be.
Doing some calculations, I bought (only one) IWM put at 204, now at 193 so a 5.4% decline = ~35% increase. A 25% decline (overall) should put you at ~150% increase.
If you buy a put expiring December 31st or later, starting at 193 (current) you should still net around a 120% return, minimum I expect is 90%.
If do sell the put it’s because I have another play I’m looking at….one of those meme stocks that can climb 100% in 4 weeks or less.
“Nobody ever went broke taking profits” > for me it’s “Nobody ever “got rich quickly” without going all out”
There’s going to be a bounce starting next week, lasting potentially 2-3 weeks; you still have an opportunity.Fuelman » 19 Apr 2024, 3:46 pm » wrote: ↑ Thanks for the updates, I'm following along.
At least someone is making money, I get to endure the slow slide to wherever the bottom is. Boring as hell!
Vegas was going to quit working at the end of March due to crypto trading, haven't heard how that panned out.

If I get greedy I might even sell the put, buy a short call, and then re-enter![]()
Even if you decide not to make a play here, did you not consider the choice of moving money into SGOV (short treasury ETF)? 5% yield is garbage in a 8%+ inflationary environment but better than -25%
It may not be a priority now, but the window is closing.
I'm expecting:LowIQTrash » 13 Apr 2024, 2:20 pm » wrote: ↑ Just a little longer...I can BARELY contain my excitement
