After that, the people were captives to the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Crusaders. Through all of these events, the Jewish people continued to live in Israel. There were more or less of them, depending on the centuries, but there was never a time when the Jews didn't live in the land. They stayed, they built their communities, they raised their families, practiced their faith and they suffered at the hands of many outside rulers, but they always kept their faith. It is what sustains them, even now.
In 1948, the UN established the State of Israel, the nation of Jews. Don't buy the Palestinian lies that they are entitled to the land. It simply is not true.
The Jewish state comes to an end in 70 AD, when the Romans begin to actively drive Jews from the home they had lived in for over a millennium. But the Jewish Diaspora ("diaspora" ="dispersion, scattering") had begun long before the Romans had even dreamed of Judae

Interesting. The name Palestine has been associated with that area since the 5th Century BC. Rome renamed its province "Judea" as "Syrian Palestine" in the 2nd Century AD. Hadrian expelled the Jews in 135 AD. And when the Muslims captured Jerusalem in 638 AD only a handful of Jews remained in the region. The Diaspora was so profound and overwhelming that by 1850, the population of Palestine was estimated at 380K with less than 10K (4%) of them being Jews. And with the world population of Jews being around 7 MILLION at that time, I think it is safe to say that one tenth of one percent of the world's population hanging around in Palestine is not sufficient to maintain any sort of legitimate "claim" on the property.
