I've been so busy I haven't even had time to log on. I just finished a nine day water fast - got me some factory-made new stem cells. When you go into autophagy, your body does a deep clean and produces new stem cells that fortify your immune system and repair whatever needs repairing.

I'm putting together my chicken ranch, Right now I have 46 pullets. I have no idea how many hens and how many cockerels - haven't even tried to count. Caring for a brooder is a lot of work - especially when you are learning as you go. The re-do's are hell. 

When I get back from brazil, I'm going to get a SECOND chicken coop - 8x10 like the one I have now. I'm going to order 50 barred rock hens for that one. My boy bigsky says they are hardy in all weathers - even the extremes of Montanny. He says they're predator resistant and good layers (300-plus), and they prefer foraging to eating store bought foods. As I am free ranging my hens, that predator-resistant quality is a top priority. Good foraging proclivity is another top priority. And as I plan to sell eggs at the farmer's market, being good layers is important. 

I've been working like a young buck around here. I'm starting a compost pile - gotta run electric fence around it to keep the possums and weasels and skunks and foxes and coyotes out of it until it gets started good. I have access to restaurant scraps, so it won't take long to get a good pile going. Once I get a strong compost heap going, it'll produce vermin until kingdom come, with the chickens turning it for me. 

Before next Spring, I intend to be running a hundred beak. That way, none of the other chicken ranchers can say I'm all beak, no chickens.
