LESS PEOPLE HAVE THE INTEREST FOR HOT HEADLINES AND BREAKING NEWS NOT FOUND IN MAINSTREAM MEDIA?

Half of the "lure new members" answer is keeping them interested in posting after they show up here.

We tend to be pretty hard on new guys immediately.
Accusing them of being the sok of somebody we dislike is a very common reaction to a new name.
Happens to almost every newbie.

Why would they want to post where they have to battle that **** rather than the content of their post?
We have lots of posts "you said... no, you lied... are these your words?... etc... "
 On and on with that crap...    zzzzzzz  

(Good thing omh is here to perk up the place LOL)

So, even if you solve the "lure" issue,
what keeps them awake after they scroll through page after page of strangers calling each other out over petty personal grudges?

newbies are treated like those getting off the bus for boot camp...

and like boot camp, if you can get through it, you're in...

Yeah, that is sort of how it goes.
