I would suggest that a more effective way to counter someone questioning your intelligence MIGHT be to display that intelligence by communicating in writing at a level somewhere above a third-grader.

When you discuss something intellectual you can make that comment.  Right now you entered the sewer and you are not doing very well.

My congressman used the Civil Service Test.  Over a hundred top shelf  high school seniors from all over our congressional district vying for three spots.

 And I am not whining.  Obviously, you'll never meet my wife and she is oblivious to the banter that goes on.  It doesn't really bother me.  It is just mildly disappointing but then I know this:  You are rude AND crude... and that is the difference between us Mr. Atlas.  I may be rude, but I am more refined on my roughest day than you will EVER be.  That's gotta suck to know that, eh?
