She was a kid. How articulate and descriptive are you expecting a child to be? She said she was afraid to get in the shower with him since the incident. I don't know what a scared child should be expected to write in her diary about her own dad doing things to her in the shower.

she was a recovering drug addict writing about her remembrances of thirty years in the past.  This was not a contemporaneous diary written by a young girl.  Ashley did not write those words until she was middle-aged.
