 I guess I was of a another mindset...money in, money out and money to put away...

The impact of social media is leaving a mark and not necessarily in a good way. Especially for the younger crowd.

Your mindset concerning money is really all it takes. So simple you would think a current college graduate could wrap their head around the concept.

I told my 10yo grandson that social media will be our demise...it's harmful on every level...

it's so patently simple, it s/b a requirement taught at high school level...

my youngest went off to his first year of college with no intention to work and just party...he calls me a few weeks in and says he had some overdraft notices... I went to his bank since he was 3 hrs away...he had 5 overdrafts totaling $150 for 5 purchases of between $1 and $5...

I literally chewed the banker's *** out for such unscrupulous BS and got them to relinquish all but one or two... I was lucky to get in there at all as he "was an adult"    ... I called his sorry *** up and tore him a new one...he learned the hard way..but you know what? he started working after that, accelerated his school loan payments, car payments, etc...he now "hates being in debt...

No, that's the sad part...his wife is a teacher and an activist...and she rules the roost...has become quite nauseating...

I feel your pain!

I also have a wife who was an administrative assistant in a middle school before she retired a couple of months ago, and as such had a first hand perspective on the kind of waste that went on in the public school system here in NJ.  I'd here horror stories of the kind of **** that went on within the bureaucracy on a regular basis, and that solidified her for life as a conservative.

I'd gently question her and allow her to reveal the same kind of reality within the teacher's union, which I believe is a significant detriment to the public school system.  I've long been an advocate of abolishing the federal Dept. of Education and invoke a voucher system FOR ALL public schools.  Competition will weed out the worst schools and force the rest to actually succeed in educating our kids properly, because as it stands now, the education that every Democrat-run city school kid gets is practically worthless, and that's a crime.  And any business owner or HR department who interviews potential workers will tell you the same thing.  High school "graduates" in the city of my business most often could barely read and comprehend a simple job application.  The proper spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation were practically non-existent.  Their interviewing skills were even worse.  An honest evaluation I would make is that most had the equivalent of a 4th grade education, and yet they believed that they could compete on the level with those graduates who actually had a real high school education and could read and write at a level that a potential employer would want to hire, and that was the saddest part of all.  
 

Yeah my wife was a school adm. In a red state and the amount of waste was horrid.

rhetorical questions to actual ancestors equally sharing same time separate bodies, separate generation gaps, same species, separate ancestral lineages, same rotation of the planet.

how and why is it so harmful regardless what ideology is using it?

When is an ancestry's eternal debt of gratitude repaid to humanity for creating their theological eternal soul on a world stage where genetics eternally separates each sole reproduction alive this rotation?

What is currency used for socially? Arbitrary value used between trading goods and services among ancestors working as a social organization sharing time adapting in same space as separate lifetime now.

Free market choice of believing in tomorrows or obeying previous 4 generation gaps behaving larger than created equally proportionately alive this rotation of the planet.

well, just to add perspective, she's in the Minneapolis school system...       woke as ****...and ultra sensitive to anything and everything...especially since floyd....and **** covid...

the problem is they go with what they got thinking they got it...

In the late 70's, I worked with a guy out of Philly...he was a recent machining grad...he just did not have it, even tho he'd show you his school books and brag about them...not sure how he even graduated...and the guy training him in was so eloquent after he figured out this guy wasn't cutting the mustard, he asked asked him about his girlfriend who was still back in Philly, did he miss her, etc...and when the guy mentioned she was pregnant? It was a green light show of encouragement to go back to her...   which he did with nary a mention of poor work performance...
