Median home cost jamaica queens 451 per foot - 725k.

Doesn't seem that crazy, especially when you factor in that you've mandated a commute in a rolling high security prison that has everything but the guards.

The matter in question is Supply of Labor (employee side) vs Demand for Labor (employer side)

If the Supply of Labor consistently and significantly exceeds Demand for Labor, what do these conjobs think will happen? 

Of course the price of Labor will remain depressed and more and more people will drop out of the workforce (Labor Participation Rate) to try and re-establish “market equilibrium” (parity between work performed and compensation)

Yet these retards think there is a “shortage” of working hands!

I went to the link. The *** asked if that came to six figures. When an adult did the math FOR him - 40k, - he then said but but but if the spouse is working, THEN it's a hundred k.

The guy is an idiot.

The actual answer of whether the MW hike is bad for the economy is more complex than your handlers led you to believe. A higher MW enables a % of existing workers to earn more but dis-employs / slashes the working hours of the remaining, so if you look at it purely from a consumption (consumer spending = higher GDP) POV then the MW is a more or less neutral policy.

It re-allocates existing resources from some workers to others. The employer doesn’t GAF because they can reduce hours and payroll. 

Without a minimum wage, a similar phenomenon would occur - people would simply drop out of the labor force because the value of labor is far too low for most sentient people (read: people not from 3rd world ****) to justify commuting 1+ hour to work and dealing with drudgery and tyrannical bosses 9-12 hours/day in and out. 

This is exactly what happens in 3rd world countries like India and Indonesia - lots of people are “silently unemployed” (not counted as part of the workforce) due to extreme saturation of labor so they’re forced to sell street food or do other types of low paying work in the “informal” sector.

Job training programs don’t do anything anyways because white collar work is saturated - you would just introduce more competition for limited white collar jobs (on top of the millions of H1Bs also joining the party)
 
Software = saturated 
Most engineering fields = saturated
Most medical professions = artificially limited by AMA so it’s not like you have a choice, but are saturated anyway 
Accounting = saturated 
Trades = almost saturated (only silver lining is that the well paid ones are unionized, but it takes a while to get a union position or else you get paid peanuts)

Nursing / home care isn’t saturated but not everyone is keen on wiping Boomers’ asses

There is no “easy” solution to the problem I outlined above (imbalance between supply and demand for labor). For the individual, their best hope is get lucky, crime, be extraordinarily talented at something that makes money, start grifting / brown nosing, or buckle down and work like a donkey and hope you make it.

The US government could in theory deport tens of millions of foreigners (both legal and illegal) and start creating a massive jobs program back home but good luck with that - hasn’t been done since 1950s.
