I gather that you don't have a lot of regular interactions with blacks, do you?

I had a great deal of experience in that regard while in the Navy.

I can tell you without a doubt, that blacks can use that word for each other, but they hate it when a white guy uses it on them.

Much like ***.  I lived in Augusta, for many years which is right next to Hallowell which had all the best restaurants in the area so we would go there a lot... and it also has one of the highest concentrations of gays in Maine after Ogunquit and Portland... and I heard many of them call each other that word. Still, they resented it when a straight person used it on them.

Not any more. We moved outta NY to get away from them.  True. I remember them throwing bricks at the firemen trying to put out  fires.
