And here comes the Trump diversion.  

He wasn't "wrong", he knew he could do it.  As far as facts, remember, he didn't need congressional action to undo previous policy.

Opinion:

He is doing it now because the border has been the number 1 issue in america and it is an election year.  When he claimed he did not have the authority he wanted congress to share the responsibility so his base doesn't think it is all him.

His stupid damn border EO does absolutely NOTHING to stop the invasion of illegals, terrorists and drugs at the Southern Border.  Of course, he, the dim-0-craps and rinos have no intention of fixing the border.  It was purely a political manuever.

Texas Governor Abbott has done way more to solve the problem, even defying braindead biden.   While Californication and Arizona illegal crossings are up 20%-24% Texas' is down 74%.
