I too shoot cross eye dominance due to astigmatism in my right eye, but only with handguns. I shoot a pistol right handed, but sight with my dominant left eye, but I've always shot long guns lefty... even shotguns.

All that considered, I'm still a pretty decent shot... and am much better with a handgun than a long gun.

I think I read where that's going to be a priority when he gets back from the Amazon jungles......looking for Mengele's Hitler Clones can be quite exhausting.

I thought you were referring to the part about where you said you couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, even with a shotgun... but I see upon further review that you were referring to the part about you being a proficient dove hunter... which was gleaned from the fact you stated that you had "killed enough" and moved onto something.

I interpreted that as you got so good at taking dove that you grew bored with it, and moved onto something else.

Hitting dove isn't as easy as most people think it is. Quail can be even more challenging.

I bought a fancy over/under to go dove hunting in Mexico.  It was beautiful, but clearly not designed to be fired. 

Upon my return I bought an 870, simple and very reliable. I hunted bird...over my akita.

Then one day I decided that I had killed enough. It's not uncommon.

If I spent 10 minutes shooting skeet, I'd adjust and do ok, I have a "good eye" in other sports...but if you're serious about scattergunning and cross eye dominant, you gotta work at it.

It wasn't nearly important enough..

Bird hunting here isn't worth it.
