The debate is a LOSE, LOSE proposition for Joe Biden... ASSESSMENT:

1)  NOT doing the debate would be PROVING to America that HE'S NOT up to the job... AND,

2)  He OBVIOUSLY stands the chance of being completely OBLITERATED by Donald Trump if he's "off"... HOWEVER,

3)  EVEN if he does "OK"... is "OK" good enough to erase FOUR YEARS of Joe Biden and Democrat Party Policy SCREW UPS... and a CAREER of being COMPLETELY WRONG about a LITANY of CRITICAL issues... which he has ONLY carried forward into the last FOUR YEARS:

a)  Encouraging and Promoting ILLEGAL Immigration,
b)  Pro Crime policies,
c)  WOKE-izm,
d)  Pro Trans Gender policies,
e)  Weaponization of Fed. Government & Law Enforcement,
f)   STABBING Israel in the back,
g)  Afghanistan pull out...

and SO MANY MORE UNFORCED policy mistakes ! 

To expect that all of those MISS STEPS can be undone oy ONE "OK" debate performance is CRAZY !! 
 
 
 

They will drug him up on the same stuff they did from the State of the Union address. There are drugs that can help temporarily with dementia.

I'm sure they will... but Joe is on a constant and steady decline !  He was worse last year than when he took office, and is worse today than he was at "the State of the Union address"... AND, a debate is a MUCH tougher ask, than the SOTUA ! 

If Trump is smart... and I think he is... he will find ways to FORCE Joe to respond to him (his questions & accusations... based on facts & evidence of CORRUPTION (among other things))... and if Joe doesn't... it will prove EVEN MORE SO... that he has a script... and CAN NOT, and WILL NOT, deviate from it...

For instance:  I think Trump should find a way talk about the corruption in Bidens administration, HIS weaponization of law enforcement, and fact that the "Hunter Laptop" was ADMITTED (by the FBI and under OATH) to be REAL only a month or so ago... after he, the FBI, the DOJ, and Democrats in General SWORE to AMERICA that it was "Russian Disinformation" before the 2020 election... and WHY wasn't that investigated as "Election Interference" by HIS (Joe Bidens) DOJ ?

If Joe Doesn't respond... then he is avoiding the issue, and THAT would be BADLY recieved and perceived by the American people... AND, if he does try to answer it?... EVEN BETTER because there IS NO acceptable REASON why the Democrats, the FBI, and the DOJ LIED about the Hunter Laptop BEFORE the 2020 election... EXCEPT to influence the 2020 election with LIES... and DID IT WITH the help of the FBI and DOJ !!!
 

I wonder if Trump will ramble off into his electric boat/shark/snake riff?

I think the moderators HAVE to give Trump a fair chance to debate, and respond... EVEN IF he brings up issues and questions that the Democrats are TERRIFIED of...
