Don't assume that. I remember when the US ambassador to Iraq got off script. April Glaspie disappeared for 90 days - right in the middle of the build up to the first gulf war. Just GONE - when anyone and everyone with a badge was being trotted out for the cameras.
90 days later, she came out and corrected the record - RIGHT AFTER HER SON WAS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE.
