So you know that it starts in FIFTH grade.  And their reasoning is because they believe that the country was built on the teachings of the Bible, particularly the New Testament.

So reading what you claimed to 2nd graders would not apply and that passage has nothing to do with it.

The intent of the directive is not to teach the new or Old Testament.  It is to be used as a historical reference to what the settlers and founders thought.

Plus, at only 0.1% (4,425) of the state's population it probably would not bother too many people.

The Bible is also replete with juicy stuff like Ezekiel 23. A Bible will be required in every classroom. Do you want your fifth-grade grandchild to be reading stuff like that?
