I agree with most of your post.  I simply prefer to call it empire or neo-liberalism.
Whether its your terminology or mine, folks just fail to grasp these truths
because of UksepshunalJIZM.

Just talked with a guy who rents out rooms in his houses. He said he has to evict one of the tenants because she's an alcoholic.

She gets $5K/month in alimony from her (also alcoholic) husband. THAT'S gaming the system...well not really, it's gaming another person, but it's much closer to "gaming the system" than supposedly taking advantage of credit card points and low interest rates that were available to everyone else...  

I said: "That's the American Dream! $5K/month for doing nothing other than popping out a baby and then initiating divorce."

I can't stand my turds riding side saddle. Just knowing my excrement was along for the ride was creepy. 

I had an RV during phase one of my bakken boom adventure. I sold it at a profit, having hauled it to east ****. I probably spent as much on diesel as I did on the damned rig. But it kept me toasty in minus 30 weather. It was actually quite nice - A Jazz by Thor, 33 feet stem to stern.

Still, if it's an RV or the street, I would damned sure take an RV. A boat, Idunno. Lotta upkeep on those things. And trust me, marina trash is every bit as sketchy as RV park people. They're mostly just annoyingly bourgeoise, whereas marina trash are all a bunch of psychos and serial killers.

Okay, maybe not all. Some are just drunks and a few just forgot not to be hippies anymore. But most of those get killed off by the psychos and serial killers, so the ratio of hippies and drunks to psycho killers keeps decreasing.

Or so I would imagine - I stay away from marinas.

totally...a recent trend in these parts are for small locally owned businesses, is to tack on @ 3% to the bill if paying by card to cover the fees incurred by the banks. At this point, it's a matter of choice to pay cash or pay the fee...

now for the bigger stores...you are correct, however, they may or may not have those fees built in, so if it isn't an additional tacked on fee, there is no advantage in paying cash...however, that being said, it's more than likely they are built in...

Spain's monarchy survived the spanish american war, which I believe we can agree was the end of spain's empire. But the italian government ended and was replaced by an american proxy at the end of empire. The greek empire ended when rome just kicked their door down and took their ****. 

I suspect america will fracture into several countries at the end of empire.
