I am pulling the engine of my GF's 2011 Japanese car that blew up. I'll be looking for either a rebuilt engine or a low mileage used engine.
What is she driving in the meantime for a "loaner"...?
My 1993 Jeep with 400,000 miles on it [that I had to become a self taught "computer controlled auto tech" in order to keep running].
If I had to rely on everyone else for my basic survival needs, I would have needed to mortgage my children's inheritance just like so many other middle class Boomers [who made much more money than I did] have needed to do.

These numbers are for people actually retired, of course the numbers are higher including everyone else.

Still,  7% only reaching the $500k mark is pretty amazingly low.

It is different because when someone uses equipment to do something, they are actually doing something. A tangible thing is produced that could be useful to somebody in some way.

if someone is making money simply because they have money, nothing is actually produced.

Just imagine how absurd a country would be if it was composed purely of moneylenders lending their money back and forth on interest. Not a single farmer. The gdp might even be impressive! But everyone starves.

Well, considering we're the first generation to actually save for retirement and not rely on SSI like our parents did, it's not surprising...

$1M isn’t much these days…maybe 24 years ago.

Additionally a large % of millionaires have that money locked up in their personal assets (like the house they wage slaved to pay off) which isn’t equivalent to an income producing asset.

I already told my side of the story so there’s no mystery why I think the way I do. When you’re surrounded by people who make $400K, $800K, and even $3M+ a yr, wagie slavie at a “6 figs job” (which most people take as $100K - $200K a yr) is not going to cut it. 

Of course if it was the exact opposite (surrounded by people who make $50K, $80K, $100K) then you would be seen as a god making $200K a yr.

Just so ya know, you have NEVER gamed the system. When you THOUGHT you were gaming the system, the system was gaming you. You were going where they put the cheese. 

The day I sorted that out, I almost **** myself.
