I agree with his take that Trump, if elected, will immediately broker peace. He's gonna put a stop to that ****.

But far from being based on Putin ceding some-but-not-all taken territory, I believe the predictable, almost certain position of Russia will be that it keeps ALL taken territories, and on top of that, Putin will demand that Ukraine cede a sizable chunk of land for a militarized DMZ. The west has captured Ukraine through its various manipulations, and Putin wants no part of it as a neighbor. Instead, Russia will settle for a hard border that cuts off all intercourse like what we see on the Korean peninsula.

The west is failing in physical economy. Putin is looking past european and north american markets to economies that are developing rather than depleting.

Actor George Clooney wrote a guest essay in The New York Times on Wednesday calling for Democratic leaders to coalesce behind a new presidential nominee amid mounting pressure from within the party for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the race.Clooney, a major Democratic fundraiser, issued his call as prominent Democrats continue to step forward to question Biden's ability to win re-election against former President Donald Trump following the president's debate performance last month.

Normally I would not speak about Hollywood types but Clooney has been a major democrat fundraiser for democrat presidential candidates.  He just held a huge even a few weeks for him.  Here is what he said:

"It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010," Clooney wrote, referring to a star-studded event in Los Angeles that president attended last month before the debate. "He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate."
