I live in the same country you do.  From where I sit, the economy is chugging along just fine.  My stock portfolio is doing great.  But...YMMV.  I mean, you live in some **** of a town where criminals and drug dealers roam the streets at will.  I can imagine such a **** existence as that would sour MY view on America as well.
