I gave up on that, it's just so over the top, like the script of a great comedy movie, that is meant to have people in stitches.. not something that could really happen but yet it did or so they want us to believe.. weekend at Bernie's comes to mind, I was laughing so hard when I first saw that I thought I would never recover.. that became reality too..

Roofers use special soled shoes to improve traction. There are even shoes with magnetic soles.
A competent Leader of Men would shoot a rope [static lines] over the roof that's tied off to a solid anchor point on the ground, then send his men up to the roof knowing that this little "field engineering"

One of my uncles was a storm insurance adjuster....hail damage to roofs etc.
He had special shoes for really steep roofs called....COUGAR PAWS.
They had different soles for the various types of roofing materials.
