I wonder if this attempt was not politically motived. Hinkley shot Reagan to get attention. Chapman shot John Lennon because he thought he was too famous and Chapman wanted Fame himself.
This guy was a lonely nerd who was bullied. Maybe he want to be famous. Or pull a "I'll show you".......
