I get that disagreements are healthy. That's actually a positive thing. However, this seems like it would be a deal breaker for Musk. This disagreement is no small thing. Something seems off about this.

It's possible that Musk is hoping a Trump administration backs off on any opposition to EV's thanks to his donation, but regardless, I'd say Musk is more concerned that a plummeting economy under Biden will make it tougher for Americans to buy EVs, and that a stronger US economy under Trump will be better for Tesla sales.

Your third paragraph is fake news. 

But even if it were true. Not everyone is motivated by money. And he has more than he will ever need.

I have seen multiple sources confirming it.  Yes, he has more than he will ever need. So do all billionaires, but they still manage to try and run things anyway.

Most Americans don't want to buy a EV.
Take me- I'm  not rich. Why in hell would I ever want to go into debt to save 50 cents on gas, by buying an EV? I own my car. i could drop dead- reincarnate 6 times- and that EV still wouldnt pay for itself.      
so as if i want a 600 dollar month payment to save what? 50 bucks a month on gas
this is All a bunch of crap.

last I heard folks who own them want to go back to gas.... No place to charge the things. It was hilarious in maine when the power went out in half the state.  All the dead cars!!!  in the parking lot by the chargers... surprise! the chargers run on electricity. LOL

Perhaps Musk feels the Trump/Vance ticket would better preserve his position in the niche EV market by slowing down the Government mandates to "go green" at such a break neck speed. Musk knows that only so many EVs are going to be sold, and the less players in the game, the better for Tesla long term.

I don't think EVs are a "scam" per say... just the way they are being pushed as a solution to save the planet.

Musk knows that the EV pie is only ever going to be so big, and he wants to keep as much of it for himself as possible... and Trump/Vance is his best bet for that.

A few years back Biden held an EV summit and didn't bother to invite the largest US EV company, Elon noticed. Might have something to do with the Biden DOJ suing Space-X also.
