I understand why Trump would want to do this, but I don't see how that will put more money in our pocket. Each market in our economy is not an island. What's done to one , cause a ripple effect to the rest, either directly or indirectly. For example, raising the min wage will put more money in to the worker's pocket in the short term. However, once the economy catches up to it, they will see how price are raised, which leaves the workers back to square one again. Eliminating income taxes would be great if it didn't effect other prices. Not just gas prices. We would only get more money in our pocket in the short term. Once the economy catches up to the change, we will be back to square one again.

Increasing the minimum wage is the most stimulative thing you can do for the economy. Minimum wage workers spend their wages immediately. They do not save. They do not invest. They immediately recycle every penny they get their hands on.
The larger the volume of business, the less need there is to increase prices. For example, take the restaurant business. It is axiomatic (though mostly wishful thinking) that labor cost plus food cost should amount to 50%. HOW YA GET TO FIFTY IS IRRELEVANT - just that ya do so, that's the whole game.
Fine dining establishments are comfortable with a food cost of 35%, because each ticket is so high that it's easy to keep labor at 15. Dominos, OTOH, aims for 25% labor and 25% food cost. Both are shooting for 50% COGS, but getting there differently.
When minimum wage is hiked, worker productivity goes up. The mechanism for this is pretty simple: employers do more business with the same team of workers. This raise in productivity offsets, at least partially, the raise in employee costs. And this obvious fact is deliberately overlooked by the advocates of working class poverty.
The minimum wage in Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana is 7.25. In Arkansas, it is 11. In MIssouri, it is 12.30. Prices are virtually identical in all of these states. They should be much higher, if your theory were correct.
