Do you actually make enough money from honeycomb to afford a house and raise 3 children? Cause i find that hard to believe.

Keeper of bees cultivate crops to sell at farmers markets. Keeper of bees have other jobs to add income to their lifestyle. Bees are natural producers of an end product that human law requires processing for retail social consumption so those in charge profit from everyone else working then act like the world wouldn't exist without their influence.

Really, you find that hard to believe??? There is MORE than enough money in commercial beekeeping to have VERY nice things, several luxuries, a pool, nice vehicles, a PAID FOR 3 BR home, and travel as desired.

As a FYI, we don't sell "honeycomb" as that is like gold to a beekeeper that produces HONEY you STUPID ****!! I happen to know a few COMMERICAL BEEKEEPERS that earn over $200,000 a year AFTER expenses from their beekeeping operations. Sucks you don't and never will know any of them.

One of our LOCAL FIREFIGHTER CAPTAINS here started keeping bees 5-6 years ago with 3 hives, and now manages over 1,500 colonies, built a NEW HOUSE on 50 acres, and left that FF job 3 years ago to be FULL TIME beekeeping. Not only does he sell honey, and he built a $250,000 "honey house" last year including over $50,000 of extraction equipment, but he ALSO sells bees to new beekeepers that are OUTSTANDING nucleus hives. He sometimes sells queens that he raises too, for another added income stream.

Now, ****, you MIGHT have learned something.

If you were honest, you would give provide the correct answer, which is no. You cannot buy a house and raise 3 kids on the income of a beekeeper.

And I would then inform you that before there was 'capitalism'...going back a few centuries...you absolutely could.

I don't give 2 **** what you believe or not. I KNOW FACTUALLY what COMMERCIAL BEEKEEPERS IN MY REGION MAKE and its FAR MORE than $40K a year., PERHAPS you shuold READ beyond the first paragraph, DICKFACE!!

I know that THIS STATE I am in is close to #2 or #3 in beekeeping operations. LARGE ones that also provide POLINATION SERVICES to California for the almond bloom yearly. THAT ALONE brings in over $40,000 for a trailer full of bees. That would be 400-450 hives, depending on how they are palleted. The going rate for pollinating almonds is over $150-200 PER HIVE, ****!! And the ONLY expense is the cost to truck them out there.

Now, the DIFFERENCE where I live is that we don't have "winter storage" for bees as they do well year-round without any need to try and keep them in a warm place for winter. So, the "expenses" are quite low to prep bees for pollination services. Nor do we need fumagillin since Nosema is not an issue here with our bees. And neither is protein since we have pollen all but one or 2 months a year available for bees to forage on. 

So what your little "article" says and what is reality are 2 totally different things.
