Here's something else they do....they buy up all the local produce, so the competition must bring theirs further.

We'll just overlook that most haddock are caught on the upper stretches of the northeaster seaboard and Market Basket is a upper northeast chain. Your lobster prices are pretty sweet up that way too.

Did you actually read the citation?  They are paying much lower prices.  The citation will tell you why although I posted the same thing a few months ago and told you this morning.

These conversations would go much faster if actually read the info given.  You have been told multiple times that one of the major reasons they get have lower prices is they pay the suppliers when the stock arrives.  Not at a later date.
