Frames and receivers are the pieces of the firearm that contain the operating parts of the firing mechanism, and are the part of the gun regulated under federal law.

True story
A person told me they used to tow the stealth bomber in and out of the hangar. They told me they had to put a cloak on the plane so they could see it.
