Just in the microcosm of Austin, TX I have witnessed this.
There are legit "no go" zones downtown. Areas that in the 80s - early 2000s
were hot spots...bars, restaurants, dance clubs, music venues....
The Live Music Capital of the World...
And now? tents, homeless, addicts, crime, filth....AND shut down businesses.
