social security tax is less and it is not taken out after 167,000. lift the cap of the amount of how much money is taxed for social security.Fuelman » 09 Oct 2024, 12:51 pm » wrote: ↑ Educate yourself.
As a result of changes to Social Security enacted in 1983, benefits are now expected to be payable in full on a timely basis until 2037, when the trust fund reserves are projected to become exhausted.1 At the point where the reserves are used up, continuing taxes are expected to be enough to pay 76 percent of scheduled benefits. Thus, the Congress will need to make changes to the scheduled benefits and revenue sources for the program in the future. The Social Security Board of Trustees project that changes equivalent to an immediate reduction in benefits of about 13 percent, or an immediate increase in the combined payroll tax rate from 12.4 percent to 14.4 percent, or some combination of these changes, would be sufficient to allow full payment of the scheduled benefits for the next 75 years

edit//// $168,600
Social Security tax is calculated as a percentage of gross earnings. Every year, the government sets a limit on the amount of your earnings that can be taxed for Social Security. That limit in 2024 is $168,600, up from $160,200 in 2023

I already hate obama in 2012. It was an anger vote - anger at tone-deaf, retarded repukes for running a wall street raider on the very heels of wall street raiding us.
He had literally insisted that he was identical in every way to the outgoing pariah. Talk about farking TONE DEAF...

Of course there is a cap unless you want much larger SS monthly payments going to people financially in a better place. You raise that cap but the formula remains the same which results in higher monthly payments for those folks.jerrab » 09 Oct 2024, 4:30 pm » wrote: ↑ social security tax is less and it is not taken out after 167,000. lift the cap of the amount of how much money is taxed for social security.
