Special counsel Jack Smith is in talks with senior Justice Department officials about how to end his two federal criminal cases against President-elect Donald Trump in line with a longstanding department policy that sitting presidents cannot be prosecuted, sources told ABC News.

 CNN had previously reported, based on sources close to Smith and the DOJ, that the special counsel was likely to keep pursuing the cases against Trump, for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection and his mishandling of classified documents, even if the former president won a return to the office.

 “He’s not going to be the one to say, ‘I’m going to fold the tent,’” a former DOJ official told CNN.

 In contrast to his predicted defiance, though, it now seems like Smith will instead seek to wind the cases down.

Smith had testimony from Grifty's lawyer stating that Grifty told him to lie to the court...there is video showing a Grifty flunky hiding material under subpoena...

This was a perfect example of the lawfare **** that Biden had thrown at Trump, because it didn't give Trump the opportunity to prove himself innocent since the accuser could not (and was not even required to) point with any certainty as to the date and time of the alleged "attack".  Nor was there a single eye-witness put forth despite the fact that the attack allegedly came in the fitting room at a busy retail store.  Had she provided that, Trump could have proven he was elsewhere on that date making the accusation and the victim completely unreliable and worthless to  prove anything.

But liberal assholes like you didn't really give a **** about the truth as long as you thought you could win the election if only Trump were discredited and thrown in jail.
