Matthew 16:26 New King James Version (NKJV)For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Christ must have known these days would come about.
Killing kids for Jesus?
The reason for my question is that although I believe there is some sort of creator/initiating power/unfathomable beginning, I really can't accept that there's anything beyond this life for each individual.

That makes it infinitely more special and precious... To live in the now.
So, am I an atheist who believes in a power greater than myself?
Great way to use what people choose to believe socially against the people believing life isn't self evident time adapting since conceived living eternally separated daily here now.jerra b » 21 Nov 2024, 12:09 pm » wrote: ↑ to all those christians who agree to give weapons to israel in exchange for money from aipac----------------

you are an atheist.
it is okay to have doubts. I too had doubts until I had an experience that made me believe there is something beyond here.DeezerShoove » 21 Nov 2024, 10:53 pm » wrote: ↑ The reason for my question is that although I believe there is some sort of creator/initiating power/unfathomable beginning, I really can't accept that there's anything beyond this life for each individual.

I did not say what will happen to you. I said you have no fear of what will happen to you. and I never said chicks have dicks, that is just another of your lies.EDC4ALL! » 22 Nov 2024, 12:02 pm » wrote: ↑ well you think chicks have dicks so you are definately going to hell!
You are pretty arrogant thinking that you know what will happen to me after I die.

also if the world was created there must be a reason. one of the most remarkable aspects is the perfect gravity on earth, something we take for granted, never give it a second thought.
the experience that made me believe there is something beyond here is complicated but if you are curious I will say what it was. to me it was pretty remarkable.

That said, to conceive of a infinite time/space is also pretty tough. In other words, there must have been a beginning. A creation or something. Also, tough to conceive, but, that's where my philosophical journey takes me.
A beginning/creation but no afterlife for each individual.
btw
Every miracle I've ever heard about seems to be as easily a coincidence or hallucination (trick of the mind) as anything else.

there is a game on facebook I play, word blitz.you need a heart to play a game, you get 3 hearts every so often and you can buy hearts or invite friends and you will get a message congratulations you invited so and so and you get 25 free hearts.
one night I learned someone I knew died and I was sad, I was playing word blitz and I noticed I had 25 hearts, i looked for a message, there was none,
a month later same thing 25 hearts out of nowhere and still again another month later 25 more hearts, then I realized it was the last day of the month and after that I checked for free hearts on the last day of the month and they appeared until the company changed the format about 2 years later,
this pretty much convinced me here is something beyond this world.
