Yep....there were enough retaliatory votes cast by former Democrats [many labor union members] against inflation and the effects of the Illegal Alien invasion that greatly helped give Trump the win.

What I find just as interesting is how some people in cyberspace act like know-it-alls, despise the greedy rich, call "capitalism bad, etc. yet do everything they can to become wealthy in the name of acting "independent" (or some such nonsense).
Seems odd to hate the very goal you're trying to achieve.

I don’t find it odd at all. Everybody knows that more $$ = less everyday problems to deal with. If anything, that viewpoint is arguably the most pragmatic - they understand the importance of $$$ and have a specific target in mind without succumbing to licking boots. Wouldn’t you agree this is a very cold, calculating POV?
As for OWS, it was initially organized by a weird anarchist group, and then as it grew larger, a great # of idiots became their forefront. No surprises.

When people become insistent and talk down to others regularly (among other things),
then it seems there's some emotional investment in "making the other guy listen and understand".
Cold and calculating went bye-bye with those folks long ago if they ever possessed the trait in the first place.

A huge percentage cannot reliably articulate even the most basic reasons why they're on the street.
