No document - including the Constitution - matters as much as the Declaration. In it, every promise that the Constitution is intended to fulfill is made, every principle and promise that the Constitution is intended to bring into being is enunciated. The Federalist Papers are useful, but they were just "broadsides" - published arguments intended to affect public opinion. They were written to those people at that time for the purpose of convincing them to adopt the Constitution. 

The Federalist papers matter today because they reflect some of the best thinking of Madison, Hamilton, and Jay. I'm a Madison fan, myself. Hamilton was a steaming pile of ****. You probably like the guy. I'm more of an Aaron Burr fan. Smirk.

Raising tariffs will encourage domestic production to grow and imports will be forced to drop prices to compete and absorb much of that new tariff.  Many corporations will relocate back to the US to save the tariff, bringing millions of new jobs to the country, dropping unemployment to new lows and shooting the stock market to the moon!

Our trade deficits will sink as we become energy exporters once again, and we'll rely far less on other countries for many necessary products that will now be manufactured in the US.

And if you still want to buy a Toyota instead of a Ford that costs thousands less, that's your choice!

lets call american cars made in mexico car a's and american cars made in america car b's.

also call used cars car c's

if car b's are selling for less than car a's and selling more than car a's then in order to increase sales for car a's (made in mexico) car b's prices would be raised to make them equal in price to car a's.

as far as used cars -car c's- the price would be raised to discourage people from buying only used cars.
