And Assault Weapon is as well, by the gunophobes.  They could not use Assault Rifle because an AR 15 style weapon does not meet the criteria.

An assault weapon/rifle is designed for a specific set of specifications. 

This has been demonstrated, not by repetition of narrative, but with citations.

IT is not assault weapon/rifle.  It is either Assault Weapon, or Assault Rifle.  I have posted the definition of an assault RIFLE many times.

In this case congress did.  Anti gunnners are not going to go by what the NRA says.
