I think "had" is the operative word. Bashar Al-Assad had a hot looking and intelligent wife. She divorced him and fled to England. Now, it looks like one of Putin's henchmen tried to poison Assad. Like I've said before, I empathize with Bashar. I don't think he ever expected or wanted to be the leader of Syria. His brother had been groomed for that job. Bashar sacrificed everything to get his family safely out of Syria. I actually find that rather admirable. As for his wife divorcing him - that may have been for her own protection, I don't really know. That was certainly an odd twist to Bashar's story. The poisoning - I think was to be expected.
