I know I didn't say this, but I was referring to low-normal white IQ's. Where there shouldn't be any difference in the cranium size or shape. 

Here is what I am getting at. The human brain is fascinating. If someone has a normal brain, normal education and upbringing but consistently tests out showing a low normal IQ, then it seems to me there could be a lot of unlocked potential in such a brain. An untapped reservoir of some kind of intellectual capacity which is not being utilized. What exactly is that capacity, what can it do; how can it be tapped into?

Recently, I have observed a certain level of complex intellectual capacity in an individual who would likely test out at 50 or below on an IQ test. Retarded, Intellectually Disabled, whatever you want to call this person, and there are physical deformities in this individual as well.  Yet, this person who supposedly has the mental capacity of a 5 year old, exhibits the ability to engage in relatively complex adult-oriented humor; evaluating the audience, a set up and delivering a tailored punch line so to speak. There's more mental cognition going on there than could ever be tested. It can't be tested, yet I can see it.

very interesting. Most of the truly brilliant people that I have met are rarely adamant about their positions. Not to say that they have no stance but they know that they have an incomplete information  set and can acknowledge that they can't possibly have all possible information on a topic stored in their brain.

I tend to believe brilliant people don't know they're brilliant, IE, not in their personality...

I stopped counting after 5,870 times after seeing Veghead drown in his own ignorance. His ego far exceeds his IQ. 

Same with his retarded son. He now goes by HarperLee. Not only is he usually wrong about everything, but he is going through an identity crisis. How hard is it to keep the same name?

His Dad had the same talent too.
Not so much with me, however.......

OTOH...I played chess against a kid I was stationed with in the Army who was a Hill Billy  from WV who  had a 100 IQ MOS [PRC 77 radio repairman]...and he could play with his back to the table while smoking hash and win against ALL COMERS  in 10 moves or less.   
That was a very humbling thing that I rarely subjected myself to ...to lose in chess to Jed Clampett's Son

What are the basics of chess? Limited compounding results statistically averaged out in half life principles plying one side against the other.
Chess board is proportionately square with 64 squares 32 in two contrasting colors.
32 pieces with 16 of each contrasting colors.
16 pawns 8 on each side
Within the 16 remaining there are 4 rooks, 4 knights, 4 bishops 2 queens, 2 kings chain of command over the 16 pawns.

Each piece can only move in a specific way and spaces at ne time, each time it moves. Queen has run of the board, but in straight lines and cannot move through or around its own side's pieces.
Pawns can only move one square straight across the board except to take an opponents piece diagonally. King can only move one space but can move one space in any direction except placing itself in check.

Rules to the game of chess aren't natural rules to adapting as an ancestral position being alive daily here with genetics being the only source of ancestral positions alive daily so far.

To anyone reading this thread, There is a separation of time between each reproduction native to this atmosphere occupying space as a specific ancestral position conceived to decomposed by decomposition after death or death by digestion as part of the "food chain predator and prey balances 24/7".

this is why I don't play chess. It is weaponized psychological warfare passed down each generation gap trained to believe genetics cannot be the single source of eternal separation of living relatives here today.

This is what I was talking about! Something is efficiently "clicking" in his brain, but just not something that would show up on standard testing.  I believe you can use chess as an alternative basis for quantifying a portion of someone's intelligence.

As for me, I only get better at chess if I am playing a lot.  If I stop playing for a little while, I quickly revert to a lower baseline level of play. These people who are naturally good chess players - they see the game unfold in their mind. With lots of practice I feel I cam almost see it, but I never really get there - not like Jed Clampett's son.

A lot of games like chess and bridge that most adults used to spend time doing at "get togethers" have been replaced with people who gather together to sit in the same room, watching TV and staring at their cell phones........

Sounds like an idiot savant. I have an older brother who is an idiot savant. He's bad at just about everything.

He's a genius at one thing - and one thing only. But we haven't figured out what that is, yet.
