I don't buy the "cost will be passed onto the consumer" narrative. An overall reduction in trade between the two parties (which is deflationary) is more likely.

After Trump imposed his soybean export tariffs in 2018, directed to China, China just switched to a new supplier (Brazil). To this day most small soybean farmers in America have not recovered. (Big Ag benefitted from billions more in subsidies)

There's a Canadian economist who recently wrote for the WSJ that Trump's tariffs would cause a deflationary shock for Canada, since Canada is so reliant on trade with the U, while the US has more options.

I don't see why it is "deflationary". It reduces supply, and likely leads to a reduction in quality.

This doesn't get much attention in the news, but I think Trump's beef with Canada is how they are becoming a way for more and more  Third World Primitives to enter the USA.

Canada's share of the automotive industry has been in decline in recent years..so I'm not sure what our economic imbalance with them is.

I am still of the opinion that the last time he went to Canada, they didn't let him play golf (denied him entry to a course), so he has a personal vendetta to settle.

He won 312 electoral votes.  FACT!

He WON the popular vote.  FACT.

Harris, running on Biden policy, lost 10 million votes or so from 2020.  FACT

Trum won ALL swing states.

If you can show those are not facts, on your own, bringing your own facts, I will tae a week off.  If you don't, don't ask ANYONE to post the popular vote again.
