Currently, with a HUGE percent of the workforce working from home, millions of office buildings are sitting empty, with leases and notes coming due soon (office buildings don't usually have a firm/fixed interest rate, & they change over time)... So, millions of those buildings are sitting empty, are not paying for themselves, and will start to be going delinquent soon (some already have)... Owners will walk away from them, leave the banks holding the property, & the resulting economic shock is what I think Dimon is worried about... LOTS of banks stand a high chance of going under, because of the losses... and that financial calamity could WELL cause a nation wide financial crisis ! However, it may already be too late... BUT, I think Dimon see's this incentive to get workers BACK into office buildings as a "last chance" to avert the economic crisis he sees coming...
Just MY opinion....

The WORKERS don't make the rules, the OWNERS OF THE BUSINESS DOES!! For every ASSHAT that thinks they can change the rules by DEMANDING IT, there are 20 in line for a JOB no matter what it requires.
People can wish in one hand and **** in the other and guess which hand fills fastest!! The one where wishing they could "work like they want to" is going to be DAMN EMPTY when an EMPLOYER said, YOU WILL work in the building!!
THATS the only POINT that matters.
I don't know... The buildings were already financed in early 2020, and COVID came out of no where... THEN, peoples work routine changed almost over night ! Now, LOTS of those financial agreements are coming due, the buildings are empty... so what are the owners to do? It could be that many just walk away, and the banks get them back (bad for them AND the banks who will sell at pennies on the dollar).. UNLESS something changes. It's really no ones "fault"... just bad luck !Vegas » 10 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ You are probably right. However, it's the industries job to keep up and adapt with the changes. Well, sure, everyone who are truly capable and motivated to "do their own thing", i.e. be entrepreneur, they should take a chance and go for it. But, you have to understand that a lot of people are not inclined to be an entrepreneur. For instance:Vegas » 12 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ If they can do their own thing, then no. We just have to wait & see if the "Back to work" initiative starts to gain traction !
True...ATBH, I doubt boomers care...cuz I know I sure don't...Vegas » Today, 11:21 am » wrote: ↑ True. However, it comes to adaptation. Right now, the younger generation will always have the upper hand. The boomers are leaving the workforce, nobody cares about them. They can go die. Tech is getting more advanced than ever. The younger generation has a much better grasp on it than the boomers. The boomers don't have the leverage they once had.
LOL... I believe I've only run across that once, where I detected they were at home with children... While freedom to do the stuff around the house, maybe running errands, no drive to work everyday, etc. all seems great, I have been in both situations. Like a lot of people, I've seem the workplace degrade, productivity become a lesser priority, reliability go to ****, etc.
Then, to cap it off, try getting a "supervisor" (or someone that actually knows what they're doing) involved in the problem. Good **** luck.
btw
I love being put on hold because baby's diaper is full.

Dude, BOOMERS ARE RETIRED!!! GenX is starting to hit their '60's, and they will soon start retiring too. Probably even sooner in life than Boomers, because overall, GenX'ers are more successful.Vegas » Yesterday, 12:51 pm » wrote: ↑ I don't think that is the point I made. My point is that the Bommer generation can't adapt to the up-and-coming workforce. The boomers will be gone soon. They don't have the pull they once had. The new ones are coming and are already here. The tech has allowed them more options, so they are now able to tell the boomers to go pound sand with their demands. They no longer have to slave away to make a handful of people billionaires, while they get crumbs. Tech is good. It's a new era for everything and I am excited about it.

GenXer's were the preppie generation that wanted lots of money and expensive things. Boomers were the '50's / '60's factory workers, '60's hippies and '70's Cocaine addicts. GenXer's was a smaller demographic that went to the best private schools, became technology-savoy and now run the wealthiest, cash-cow companies.
The first boomers are now nearly 80 years old!!! If they are still alive, they already shat thousands of diapers.Vegas » 38 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ The younger generation has a different idea of what employers and employees look like.
The Boomers? Well, who cares? They will be collecting their SS soon while **** in their diapers in some nursing home. They no longer count.
No they aren't. They are 61- 79 years old. They are about to retire, but they are still very much in the workforce.Skans » 4 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ The first boomers are now nearly 80 years old!!! If they are still alive, they already shat thousands of diapers.
Pretty much right. GenXer's (far more than Boomers) want to be wealthy, in control of their own destinies and self-sufficient. They have sort of a F- the world attitude, as long as they are doing the F-ing.Vegas » 4 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I am gen x. We never gave a ****. we just want to be left alone. Without adding great great grandchildren born one at time , all 5 ancestral lineages with their previous 4 generations become extinct at the same event.*Beekeeper » 46 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ Boomers will do just fine without those lazy *** "gen z'ers".
