If I were Trump, in such a negotiation... I might "float" the possibility of reinstatement in the G7, dropping all sanctions, normalizing relations, and establishing a pre 2012 landscape... HOWEVER, it would mean Russia would need to pull back from ALL territories in Ukraine... INCLUDING Crimea... and paying Ukraine Reparations ! The FLIP side, might be NO DEAL, with MORE, and More lethal weapons to Ukraine, the hiring of a mercenary (non NATO) army to HELP Ukraine fight, and MORE F-16's to achieve air superiority.... Personally, I think the final deal will be something in between, BUT it gives Russia (and Putin) something to THINK about !!
I don't think Putin should expect that he is going to be handed a win in Ukraine... there will be a CARROT, AND there will be a STICK... TRUMP DOES want the war to be over... but I don't think it will be something Putin is going to be terribly happy about... EITHER WAY... Trump wants the war to be over quickly... AND, it will be up to Putin to choose HOW...
