No, dickysucky, the guy was "paid" by an INSURANCE COMPANY because there was NO CASE THERE and Huffman KNEW IT and it was going to cost a fortune on BOTH SIDES to take it to trial and only to have the entire case TOSSED BY A JURY!! $480K vs a few million to defend and win is an ECONOMIC SETTLEMENT based on COSTS TO DEFEND, not what Huffman claimed had happen!!
He took it because it was ONLY ENOUGH to cover the LEGAL EXPENSES he had encountered. Trust me, his ATTORNEY took 35% of that, and the INVESTGATORS took another 30% or more. HE MIGHT HAVE gotten $50-75,000 AFTER EXPENSES. So what he got "paid" was **** if his case was that good, which it wasn't.
Fact is, Schlapp was LIKELY to file a DEFAMATION lawsuit and I would venture to say, that Schapp would NOT pursue it was in the settlement as well.
