Because his current **** in zelenski's hat dominates the googlesphere, I cannot find any video or print media to substantiate this claim from memory, but I believe that Trump was a zelenski booster in his first term, I know for a fact that he bragged about being the first to provide lethal aid to ukraine and about being the sanctioner in chief against Russia. And I would not be at all surprised to learn that he once favored the idea of Ukraine joining NATO.
At least he's savvy enough to see it a bit differently now. Hopefully.
Politicians weigh expediency and career path and image.
Sometimes they even think about what's good for the country.
While having the same traits as before, Trump is no longer a freshman politician.
He's probably retained allies and identified foes much more thoroughly this time.
Plus being a lame duck he can run amok with less worry. The next election is Vance's problem.
