So let me understand your point.
You're "surprised" that workers who are fired for their incompetence, insubordination, or for their inability to do the job they were hired to do suddenly claim their boss is an idiot?  Though it may be a difficult concept for a peon like you to understand, but as someone with any degree of experience would quickly learn, FIRED EMPLOYEES NEVER HAVE ANYTHING PRAISEWORTHY TO SAY ABOUT THE BOSS WHO FIRED THEM!  I've fired DOZENS of worthless employees in my career and I've yet to hear any one of them that had good things to say about me after they've been fired.  I've even had more than one issue threats against my and my business, one that I even found it necessary to get the police involved do to his threat.

And guess what, peon?  IT DIDN'T CHANGE MY OPINION OF THEM, nor did I ever once regret my decision or change the direction of my company due to their outrage!  Furthermore, I stopped giving a **** about them within seconds after I kicked them out of my company.

Apparently, someone as inexperienced as you would be bothered if an employee despised you as much as your wife did, huh?  You really think a business owner should give a **** about what a fired employee says?  They should simply shut their mouths and go pick up their unemployment check and be thankful that the owner isn't contesting the granting of those benefits for insubordination, lying, or for violating company rules or policies.  And I have personally reported those instances that resulted in a fired employee being denied unemployment benefits for such actions.

So tell us, genius.  How many good things have YOU had to say about your employers when they fired your dumb ***?
