It's very common for the body to react this way when shot in the head.
This argument has been brought up before and debunked.
Most people never see anyone shot unless it's in a movie.
They wouldn't know this fact.

The assumption that illogical people could be swayed is the only one I made.
The sheer inertia from the bullet striking a heavy mass with a hard shell was enough to convince me.
I heard the **** story that it was a reflex from a living organism to lurch toward the bullet's trajectory.
