1)  The SR-71 Blackbird was on the verge of being hyper-sonic and flying into space almost 70 years ago !

2)  This plane has the lines of the SR-71 but with even LESS drag !

3)  There has been LOTS of talk that the U.S.A. would NOT have ever retired the SR-71 without having a viable replacement... so there may well have been a TOP SECRET "Son of Blackbird" out there flying for last 20 years !

4)  AND... PROBABLY the biggest snag for a "hyper-sonic fighter" would probably be the weapons launch, and THAT could be tricky... firing a hyper-sonic missile, from a hyper-sonic fighter, and doing it safely...  but IF they have figured that out... there is no reason why THIS could not be the FIRST EVER... HYPER sonic fighter !!

And if so... that puts the "Hyper-sonic Missiles"... that Russia and China have been bragging about recently... to COMPLETE shame !!
