It can be said about many places: Nice . . . except for the people.

I lived near Sacramento (Fair Oaks) for a while a bunch of years back.
The further north you go the better California is generally speaking.
That has to do entirely with the people living there.

Agreed. I used to drive a couple of hours north of San Francisco to attend stock shows and rodeos.
