Picked up a load of Salsa a wharehouse in Ft Worth destined for Costco "D/C in Salt Lake City.
When I had time liked to take the " Back-Roads" instead of Interstate used to like stopping the little towns eat at a local joint instead of the Big Chain truckstops also just see something different too.
I had loaded on thursday didnt have 2 be there until tuesday morning so I took my time and the back roads that haul
So, is the town "sketch" as I remember it? Or was I just so tired, cold and delusional that I wouldn't know Jackson Mississippi from Palm Beach, Florida?TwoIfByTea » 31 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I was probably last there 2020/2021 in a Big Truck.

Yeah we live there.Skans » Today, 7:33 am » wrote: ↑ Is Wichita Falls, Tx you neck of the woods? I was there, once, in 1994. I was riding my motorcycle from the east coast, trying to make it out to the Grand Canyon.
When I pulled into Wichita Falls, it was cold and rainy; I had heard it was snowing in Amarillo - it was almost exactly to the date this time of year too! Hardley anyone on the main road either. I have to say, I wasn't much impressed by this town. It seemed pretty sketch, and someone actually stole one of my footpegs off of my bike.
Anyway, I found some run-down motel run by a Dot family in town. They were all run by Dots back then. I walked in to the check-in and asked if they had hot running water. The Dot said yes. So, I paid $10 for the night. The room was typical roach-motel, complete with a couple live roaches. Ceiling was warped and stained. The tub/shower just had a pipe coming out of the wall to put water into the tub. But, the Dot didn't lie - the water was hot. The room even had heat So, I filled up that tub with hot water and soaked for a couple of hours trying to get rid of my hypothermia. I hung my wet cloths over the heater to dry them out. Then, I fell asleep for about 10 hours. I was good-to-go the next day........warmer...........dry............and less my left highway-peg.
I'm not trying to Dis your town. I was tight on money, cold, wet and someone stole my highway peg when I was there. Didn't do much sigh-seeing.
I understand.Skans » 18 minutes ago » wrote: ↑ I'm not trying to Dis your town. I was tight on money, cold, wet and someone stole my highway peg when I was there. Didn't do much sigh-seeing.
